Privacy Policy
Last updated · May 21, 2026
SurfMarkets is in public beta. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
When you create an account we store your email, display name, and authentication metadata. When you use the product we log usage events (pages viewed, signals opened, Boris posts read) to improve the service.
2. How we use information
- To authenticate you and secure your account.
- To personalize watchlists, signals, and Boris commentary.
- To monitor reliability and debug errors.
- To send transactional messages (receipts, security alerts).
3. AI-generated content
Boris commentary and market summaries are generated by large language models. Prompts may contain non-personal context such as tickers and recent price action. We do not send your private profile data to model providers without a clear product reason.
4. Market data
Prices, quotes, and news are sourced from third-party data providers. We cache and display this data; we do not resell raw market feeds.
5. Payments
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We retain subscription status, plan, and renewal dates to gate premium features.
6. Cookies & analytics
We use first-party cookies for session management and lightweight analytics to understand which features are used. You can disable cookies in your browser, though parts of the product may stop working.
7. Data retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by contacting support; some records (billing, fraud, legal) may be retained as required by law.
8. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Reach us via the contact page to exercise these rights.
9. Beta caveat
SurfMarkets is evolving rapidly during the beta. We may update this policy as features ship. Material changes will be announced in-product.
